CLS heads to this year’s Sibos. The ‘Thriving in a hyper-connected world theme will be represented by four sub-themes that will run through the week across the whole Sibos 2019 conference:

Meet the team

Rob Franolic joined CLS in 2001 as a Senior Information Analyst and has since expanded his remit, firstly as Head of Information Analysis and Modelling in 2006, where he expanded the team and enhanced its capabilities and more recently in 2011 when he assumed his current role of Head of Analytics. In this role Rob is responsible for managing and analysing CLS’s business data, which consists of more than one billion FX transactions submitted to CLS since the infrastructure began live operation in 2002. Use cases of the data range from historical reporting of activity to forecasting of future activity and scenario modelling. Rob and his team partner across CLS, providing vital data and analytics to CLS divisions (Risk, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Relationship Management, Product Management etc.) as well as the broader FX market, including banks, asset managers and regulators.
Prior to joining CLS Rob was with Prudential and UBS Asset Management, where he held IT leadership roles respectively. An active speaker and presenter at industry conferences, Rob holds an MSc in Economics from Birkbeck College London, an MSc in Computing Science from Imperial College London and a BSc Biochemistry from the University of Bristol.

Tom joined CLS as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in September 2014. He has extensive experience in delivering technology and business performance improvements in investment banking and clearing house technology businesses.
Before joining CLS, Tom was CIO at LCH.Clearnet where he led the technology function through a major business transformation program. Prior to this, he served as Managing Director and Global Head of Rate & Currencies Technology at Bank of America Merrill Lynch supporting the Markets businesses. He has also held various senior technology roles at Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Tom studied computer science and finance at California State University, Sacramento and holds a MBA from Trium, an alliance between New York University Stern School of Business, London School of Economics and Political Science and HEC School of Management Paris.

Angus joined CLS in 2018 as Head of Product and is responsible for creating and delivering a portfolio of new forward-thinking products across the company’s three business lines – settlement, processing and data. He has over twenty years’ experience in capital markets infrastructure and securities services, specialising in product management, strategy and strategic change management.
Angus will be capitalizing on his innovative approach to product delivery and market connectivity to embrace the firm’s ambitious product growth agenda over the next 18-24 months.
Prior to joining CLS, Angus was a leading voice on technology innovation, including blockchain, for six years at Euroclear where he was Head of Product Strategy and Innovation for the post-trade provider. Previously, Angus held executive roles at HSBC Securities Services and the London Stock Exchange.
Angus holds a BA (Hons) 1st Class, History from University of Leeds.

Alan was appointed Chief Strategy and Development Officer in November 2015, with responsibility for corporate strategy and planning, product, sales and Asia. Alan Marquard joined CLS as Chief Legal Officer in March 2013 and was General Counsel from March 2015 to January 2017. He is based in London.
Before joining CLS, Alan spent three years at Barclays as Managing Director, General Counsel of Absa Capital, the Barclays subsidiary responsible for Barclays’ Corporate and Investment Banking in Africa, and Absa Wealth. Prior to Absa Capital, Alan held several senior roles at Dresdner Kleinwort, including ultimately Global Head of the Transaction Legal Team.
In addition, Alan worked at Lehman Brothers International Europe from 1999 to 2003, where he was Senior Legal Counsel for the Equity Derivatives group, and previously at Clifford Chance, London, and in private practice in South Africa

Oliver is responsible for leading CLS’s communications globally across brand, marketing, PR and employee communications and engagement.
Oliver joined CLS in 2013 from Royal Bank of Scotland’s investment banking group, where he was responsible for advising the markets team on internal and change management communications. Prior to this, he held a number of senior global communications consultancy roles in multiple blue chip organizations across telecoms, oil and gas and resourcing, both in the UK and mainland Europe.
Oliver holds an honors degree in Business Communication and Public Relations from the European University, Barcelona.
