Jonathan Ehrenfeld is responsible for Swift’s strategy across securities, payments, and digital assets. He leads the Swift Digital Assets Program, which defines the organization’s vision and execution roadmap for a Swift blockchain-based infrastructure.

Based in New York, Jonathan is the author of several articles published in the Journal of Securities Operations & Custody and other industry publications. A long-time advocate for responsible implementation in blockchain, Web3, and digital assets, he has supported numerous fintechs in their evolution from start-ups to established players in global financial services. Before joining Swift in 2011, Jonathan was an Assistant Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he also earned his BA and MA (Hons) in Communication and Information Science and Technology.
